Managing References using Endnote
EndNote is bibliographic software that allows you to store, organise and manage your references in a database (called an EndNote library). These references can be linked to your word processing documents to instantly create in-text citations and bibliographies in the referencing style that you require.
UNSW Library Tutorials are available for version 5.0 and version 6.0
EndNote software is free to staff and students of UNSW, including the COFA Campus. It is not available to staff and students of ADFA.
Importing Results from Searches
The EndNote program uses import definition files or "filters" that allow you to import references from a variety of sources such as online databases or the LRD.
A filter is selected during the import process to show EndNote exactly how to interpret the information in your data file (the records downloaded or saved from an online database). A filter does this by mapping the information in each downloaded reference to the corresponding fields in EndNote.
