This online tutorial aims to consolidate the information covered in the library workshops and provides the opportunity for students to learn more about searching for information to complete assignments, projects and support self-directed learning.
The ability to identify, define and analyse information needs, and, retrieve relevant and appropriate information, forms part of the transferable skill of Information Literacy. Information Literacy is an essential prerequisite for lifelong learning and is one of the skills expected from a graduate of the university.
This tutorial is best viewed in Internet Explorer v.6 or higher, or, Netscape v.7 or higher. It also requires Macromedia Flash Player 6 which is available for free. Get the most out of the tutorial by completing interactive tasks provided.
