There are many different "styles" for citing references, whether in electronic or print format. The "styles" are usually set by professional organisations and publishers.
If you wish to cite an internet resource, follow the format below showing the APA (American Psychological Association) style for citing general internet resources. |
GENERAL FORMAT:
Author's last name and initial (if known) (Year of last update). Title of work (if available). Retrieved month day, year, from source [ie. URL].
EXAMPLE:
Barker J (2000). Style Sheets for Citing Internet & Electronic Resources: Humanities (MLA & Chicago), Scientific (APA & CBE), and History (Turabian). Retrieved March 31, 2002, from http://www.lib.berkeley.edu/TeachingLib/Guides/Internet/Style.html
Hints & Tips
It is a good habit to print a copy of the website that you use in case it cannot be accessed at a later date. |
