""Call Numbers and LRD record information
Once you have the location details from your LRD search, you will need to retrieve the items (either from the shelves, or electronically). Below are common call numbers that you may come across when doing your course. You can also go to the main library site for a comprehensive listing of Call Number Prefixes.

Common Call numbers - do you know where to find these items?
Move your mouse over the call numbers to find out where each item can be found. MB denotes the Biomedical Library collection.  Click here for more information about call numbers.

NOTE 1: Books on Reserve

Reserve items are held in the Reserve Collection on Level 2 of the main library. This is regardless of whether they have a call number prefix of "P", "S", "L", or "MB". Items on Reserve are high demand items and can be borrowed only for a short period (eg. 3 hours).

NOTE 2: Serials/journals holdings
The journal holdings statement is useful for determining if the volume and issue that you require is held by the library or not eg. MB Vol. 9(1977)- indicates that we have the journal from vol 9(1977) onwards, whereas MB Vol.5(1991)-Vol.12(1998) means that we only have the journal from 1991 to 1998.
