COFA Library - Special Reserve Collection Reserve items Books on reading lists or in heavy demand are placed on Special Reserve at the request of members of the academic staff. These books are shelved separately at the top of the stairs and have an 'Overnight Loan' sticker on the spine. Folders containing photocopied articles are also placed in Special Reserve for short loan. They are kept at the Loans Desk and are arranged in boxes by the Lecturer's surname. Ask at the Loans Desk if you wish to access Special Reserve folders. Electronic files and Study Kits are available via the catalogue(LRD) Loans All Special Reserve items are available for short loan (3 hours) during the day. Special Reserve books are also available for overnight loan after 4.00 pm (to students and staff of UNSW only), and may be reserved in advance in person at the Loans Desk. There is a limit of three per person. All overnight loans are due back at 9.00am on the following weekday. Fines Overdue Special Reserve items attract fines of $3.00 for every hour that each item remains overdue during Library opening hours. Folders are only available for use within the library and are not reservable. Catalogue Both books, folders and electronic files in Special Reserve are listed in the Library Resources Database (LRD) by clicking on the MyCourse@UNSW Library button in the upper right hand corner of the screen. Items in the Reserve Collection may be accessed by author, title, course code, course name, lecturer's name. COFA books on Special Reserve appear in the catalogue with the status: General Reserve - Short Loan 3 hours. |
