Services for Off-campus Users

Eligibility

Off-campus Staff
Off-campus staff are those whose work is undertaken totally, or substantially, beyond the Kensington or COFA campuses. ADFA staff are served by ADFA Library.

Off-Campus Students
An off-campus student is a student whose enrolled program requires either no on-campus attendance at the Kensington or Paddington campuses or has only very limited on-campus attendance requirements such as short orientation or progress review sessions. ADFA staff/students are served by the ADFA Library.
These groups of students include:

  • Undergraduate and postgraduate students formally enrolled in programs which are officially defined as external but may also be described in text as alternative mode, multiple mode, flexible delivery mode.
  • Undergraduate students formally enrolled in programs normally considered on campus courses but who have a significant off-campus component or a remote placement which may be extensive. The status of off-campus student applies only during the off campus period.
  • Research postgraduates (Masters and PhD) who are formally enrolled as external students.
  • Students with special circumstances
Alternate Access Options

Users may find it convenient to try these alternate options to access resources:

Local Academic Library Access
Users may join the University Libraries Australia (ULA) Reciprocal Borrowing Scheme, to borrow books from more geographically convenient local academic libraries where access is possible.

Electronic Resources Access (via the internet)
Sirius - gateway to electronic journals, databases and resources
Catalogue (LRD) - catalogue search for links to electronic journals and databases

Registration and Request Procedure

How to Register
Check if you are eligible for the service.
Then complete the Off-campus Users Registration Form.
The registration for the service will take approximately one business day to complete.
Requests can only be processed once you have been registered and received email confirmation/instructions.

How to make a Request
Registered Off Campus Users can make requests through the Library's Catalogue (LRD) by logging into Your Borrower Record and selecting the ILL Request tab.
