Information Services The Information Services Department provides reference, education & training and assistance services to the faculties of UNSW. The Library has moved from a model of Special Libraries - BioMedical Library, Social Sciences & Humanities Library, Physical Sciences Library to an integrated model of teams focused on various stages of the service cycle. Service Innovation Unit This unit has the responsibility of keeping abreast of international best practice in the information services industry, determining what can be applied to the UNSW environment, and benchmarking our services to ensure that we are meeting requirements. Service Development Unit This unit has the responsibility of developing all new services and maintaining and upgrading ongoing services such as ELISE, online tutorials, and subject guides. Academic Services Unit This unit has the responsibility of building relationships with faculty, identifying with the community what services may be required, and delivering these services. These services could include research consultations; collection development work; and reference queries. Client Services Unit This unit has the responsibility for all front of house activities such as circulation, information and the management of our physical space. We are consolidating our desk services in the Main Library at the Level 2 desk.
