| 6.5 Citing Internet Resources |
There are many different "styles" for citing information sources. The "styles" are usually set by professional organisations and publishers.
Important points in citing electronic resources:
include the URL of the page you have used
include the date you accessed the site, as well as the date the site was last updated (if available).
Below is an example, using the APA style. |
Author's last name and initial (if known) (Year of last update). Title of work (if available). Retrieved month day, year, from source [ie. URL].
Example:
Barker J (2000). Style Sheets for Citing Internet & Electronic Resources: Humanities (MLA & Chicago), Scientific (APA & CBE), and History (Turabian). Retrieved March 31, 2002, from http://www.lib.berkeley.edu/TeachingLib/Guides/Internet/Style.html |

Hints & Tips
It is a good habit to print a copy of the website that you use in case it cannot be accessed at a later date. |
