Film & Video Service

The Film and Video Service forms part of the Multimedia collection, located at the Loans & Information Desk on Level 2 of the Main Library. The collection includes:

  • Music on CD
  • DVDs, videos and other audiovisual materials
Finding items:

Search the Catalogue (LRD) to find the location and call number.

Borrowing:

  • items from the main collection can be borrowed by UNSW staff and students only
  • UNSW students can borrow teaching collection videos for two hours to be viewed in the Library only. With their lecturer's permission, UNSW students can borrow teaching collection videos for class presentations
  • UNSW staff can borrow teaching collection videos for one week. Contact the Film and Video Service to book in advance
  • borrowing ceases 15 minutes before the Library closes
  • all items must be returned through the book return chutes next to the Loans & Information Desk
  • conditions of loan, fines and penalties and the Library Conditions of Use apply to borrowing and use of items and equipment
  • some items in the collection must be ordered from Stack. See Stack Collection
Multimedia collection - watching and listening:

  • video players, TVs, DVD players, and music stations can be booked for 2 hours at the Loans & Infomation Desk
  • cassette players do not need to be booked
  • any copying on this equipment should be in accordance with the requirements of the Copyright Act 1968
