Items for Loan

Most items in the Library can be borrowed and are available for loan: Borrowing conditions at the College of Fine Arts Library may vary.

  • MyCourse/Reserves Collection items can be borrowed by UNSW Users only - however Non-UNSW Users are permitted to access the collection;
  • Multimedia Collection ((includes prefixes SAV, STPC and CD's and records) items carrying the NOT FOR LOAN status in the Library catalogue can be borrowed (2 hours) but must be used within the Library - Non UNSW Users are NOT permitted to borrow from the collection;
  • also refer to loan periods and borrowing limits.
The following items can only be accessed within the Library:

  • Theses - available for loan within the Library and located in the basement;
  • Serials - journals, magazines, etc.
  • newspapers - current newspapers are located on level 3 of the Library, some newspapers are on Microform and those not on Microform that are 3-6 months old are kept in the basement;
  • Valuable books (located in the basement- prefix V, MBV, K, KLN, UNSW, HPC);
  • Reference materials;
  • Microforms (located on level 3 near the Microform readers which also have photocopying facilities - prefix SM or SMFL).
