Browser Settings - Javascript

Enabling Javascript Instructions

To use UNSW Library systems and access many electronic resources provided by publishers you must have javascript enabled on your computer.

Windows IE 7, 6.x and 5.x

  1. Go to Tools on the menu bar
  2. Pick Internet Options
  3. Click the Security tab
  4. Select the internet icon
  5. Select the "Custom Level" button
  6. In the new window that pops up, scroll down to the category "Scripting" the first item reads "Active Scripting".
  7. Select the option marked "Enable".
  8. Click on the "Ok" button at the bottom of the Security Settings window.
  9. Click on the "Ok" button at the bottom of the Internet Options window.
Firefox 2.x

  1. From the browser menu bar
  2. Click on 'Tools'
  3. Select 'Options' from drop down menu
  4. Click on the 'Content' icon
  5. Check the Enable Javascript check box
  6. Click the OK Button
Safari (Mac OSX)

  1. Select 'Preferences' from the Safari drop down menu
  2. Click 'Security'
  3. Check Enable Javascript
  4. Close the Preferences window
  5. Click the Reload button in the browser
Netscape 7.x and 6.x and 4.x

  1. Click Edit on the Toolbar.
  2. Click Preferences
  3. Click on the "Advanced" label on the left hand side of the Preferences window that pops up.
  4. On the right hand side select the checkbox marked "Enable Javascript for Navigator" or "Enable Javascript".
  5. Click on the "Ok" button at the bottom of the Preferences window.
